Health Insurance Handbook (Paperback) $45.28 Many countries that subscribe to the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) have committed to ensuring access to basic health services for their citizens. Health insurance has been considered and promoted as the major financing mechanism to improve access to health services, as well to provide financial risk protection. In Africa, several countries have already spent scarce time, money, and effort on health insurance initiatives. Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda, and Tanzania are just a few of them. However, many of these schemes, both public and private, cover only a small proportion of the population, with the poor less likely to be covered. In fact, unless carefully designed to be pro-poor, health insurance can widen inequity as higher income groups are more likely to be insured and use health care services, taking advantage of their insurance coverage. Despite the many benefits that health insurance may offer, table 1.1 shows that the journey to implement insurance and achieve the benefits is challenging, long, and risky. Policy makers and technicians that support development and scale-up of health insurance must figure out how to increase their country``s financing capacity, extend health insurance coverage to the hard-to-reach populations, expand benefits packages, and improve the performance of existing schemes. |

Global Marketplace For Private Health Insurance: Strength In Numbers $20.79 Financial protection against the cost of illness and inclusion of vulnerable groups – will require better mobilization and use of private means. Private voluntary health insurance already plays an important role in mobilizing additional resources to the health sector and protecting against the catastrophic cost of illness in some countries. This review explores the context under which private voluntary health insurance could contribute to an improvement in the sustainability of the health sector and financial protection in other countries. |

Boys ranches in Oklahoma?
I need help in trying to find a boys ranch or group home or something for a 14 yr old boy who is getting more and more out of control each day. Most of the places I have found are ” voluntary” on the childs part ( which is dumb) and/or cost $50,000 a year or more. My insurance will not pay for one . I need help in finding one that is free and/or wont call me the first time he acts up or becomes agressive/violent. Most places are like that, which defeats the purpose. Also , he knows that is how to get out of those places is to get violent and then he will be sent home, so I need one that will keep him even if he acts out
Juvie wont take him.. they have to practically commit murder or rape and trust me..boot camps wont work. He has been in a behavior center for 4 1/2 mos this year.. even that didnt work
I live in Oklahoma too. Trust me I don’t know where you are but where ever you are there is a Juvenile Detention Center that will take him. In Garfield County(my grandma lives there) they have a juvenile detention center that WILL take him. I was living with my grandma and my mom and I did and do treat my step-dad like sh!t. My mom is friends with a cop there that told my mom if I got too the point where she couldn’t handle me go on up to the courthouse in Enid and tell them he is out of control and they should let him in the Juvenile Detention Center. I think the longest he could stay is like a month. But I’m not sure on that. Just google Free Detention Centers in Oklahoma. I am sure you will find one. There has to be one. And if hes aggressive then Garfield County’s Juvenile Detention Center SHOULD take him. Im not guaranteeing it but I don’t know. There is boot camps around Garfield County also. My friend’s older brother went to one when he was around like 17. By the way do you live in Enid and is you boy named Colt? Because if it is e-mail me. I have more information on the story of today.
