cap on health insurance premiums?
anybody know if Oklahoma has a cap or anything to prevent your health insurance premium from going up very high in the event of a major illness? I have Golden Rule Health Insurance and reside in Oklahoma. Is there any kind of regulations on the cost of premiums!!!
Nope, there is none. Although generally once you get signed on with a company, they assign you to a rate pool; your rates will get increased only when the rates for EVERYONE in that pool increase.
You’ll only REALLY get nailed if you develop a serious illness, then try switching to a new company – because they probably won’t take you.
